I am so honored and excited to be President of the San Antonio Chapter this year.  This year’s board is unbelievably talented and motivated to provide as many opportunities as possible to our membership and I cannot wait to see what all they accomplish in the upcoming months.  Some key educational and networking opportunities are:

  • Education Director, Kirk Kistner, is quite ambitious this year, constructing an education program agenda with two audience levels in mind and programs scheduled every month.
  • Strong monthly program luncheons at the Plaza Club will continue with President-Elect La Shawn Stewart creating a lineup of owners with work to let us know where the next project will be.
  • Jennifer Ornelas, your Community Relations Director, will be helping the new UTSA Student Chapter during their first year of operations, as well as continue to keep our chapter involved in charity opportunities.
  • And don’t forget to watch out for all the upcoming events organized by Melodye Tomsu and her Membership Committee such as our 3rd Thursday Mixers, the Annual Members Only Holiday Luncheon, the Mentor Program, and other networking opportunities throughout the year.

As the new SMPS year kicks off, this is a great time to get involved.  Every board member has a committee that helps plan and execute all the fabulous activities throughout the year.  If you’re not up for planning programs and events, we have one of the best Communication Committees in the nation, led by Miranda Garrison.  She is always looking for strong graphic design talent and sharp writing skills to help produce our quarterly newsletter, Market Juice, and help create all the marketing materials that support our events and programs.

A chapter is only as strong as those that participate and I am looking forward to all of you contributing to help us live up to the precedent we set two years ago as the Striving for Excellence Grand Champion.  The San Antonio Chapter has made great strides over the last few years and I am definitely looking forward to taking us all to the next level!

I look forward to seeing you soon.  In the meantime, good luck and Happy Marketing!

Best regards,
Maggie Seay, CPSM
