Everyone at SMPS has a story about why they joined the organization. What’s yours?
My BD Director suggested I join as a way to get more involved and connected within the SA AEC community!

What drew you to the A/E/C industry?
I really enjoy “technical creativity” that this industry demands, from redefining complex ideas and processes in clear, innovative ways, translating archispeak or managing multiple deadlines and teams. I found that I really thrive in such an intense, challenging environment.

Where are you originally from?
I moved to San Antonio in September 2016 from Little Rock, AR. I grew up in a very, very small town in southeast Arkansas.

Tell us something really interesting about you?
My “starter home” was a 120-year-old fixer-upper. I started a tiny friction fire the day I moved in because I did not know that drills had a reverse setting. Luckily, I have really good friends with extensive renovation experience who were willing to teach me…after they quit laughing. I ended up doing most of the renovations myself and really enjoyed the process.

Where’s your favorite place to eat in San Antonio?
I’ve only been here just over a year, so I am still trying out as many restaurants as I can. Nonna, La Frite, Dignowity Meats are all fantastic.

What do you like to do in your free time?
You’ll usually find me running on the Riverwalk (I’m training for my first marathon), trying out new dinner and craft beer spots with my friends, or on the lake with my paddleboard or kayak in the summer. Although, most often, I end up spending free time making mental to do lists of things of everything I need to get done at work!

Do you have any pets?
Snacks & Munchies, two fat cats who think they are dogs.

What would be impossible for you to give up?
Claritin. Mountain Cedar is AWFUL.

Describe your ideal vacation.
I have always wanted to go to Iceland and “camp” under the aurora. But, it would have to be a really, really nice, warm camp.
