The Leonardo Award Nominations
Nominees should meet the following criteria:
- Minimum ten years of marketing and/or business development experience, including five years specific to the A/E/C industry.
- Applicant must be a past or current member of SMPS or work in a firm that supports SMPS with a current member.
- Will have made a great impact on their respective organizations and the profession.
How to Apply
Submittals should be prepared as simple packages and will be reviewed and voted on by a committee made up of representatives of past SMPS San Antonio Leonardo Award recipients. Please provide 5 copies of your printed submittal and include the following materials:
Nomination Letter (15 points)
Nomination letters can be provided by a supervisor, colleague, or friend in the A/E/C industry. Nominees can be appointed or self-nominated. The letter should be a personal account of the nominator's professional knowledge and experience of the candidate and why they are worthy of the award.
Nominee Resume (10 points)
- Name, Title
- Professional Experience
- Education
- Professional Affiliations and Accreditations
- Digital Photo on Flash Drive
Nominee Experience (70 points)
- How has he/she used his/her leadership and expertise to influence the marketing and business development culture of his/her firm or past firms? (10 points)
- What innovative marketing/promotional/business development practices has he/she successfully adopted to increase the visibility of his/her firm or past firms? Please describe how results were measured and the overall effectiveness of these practices. (10 points)
- Describe how he/she has differentiated his/her firm or past firms within the A/E/C industry. (10 points)
- Describe what he/she has done to mentor others in the A/E/C industry. (15 points)
- What marketing/business development achievement is he/she most proud of in his/her career? (10 points)
- What has he/she done to elevate or advance the role/perception of the marketing/business development professional in the A/E/C industry? (15 points)
Judges' Discretion (5 points)
The judging panel has the option to award up to 5 points for creativity, organization, and ease of use of the submission.
